Summer of Fun activities kick off July 10

Summer is going fast. To enjoy each other's company, the Cabinet will be hosting five activities throughout the summer that will give staff, MPPs and faculty a chance to socialize and take a break with colleagues. As always, these are all optional fun activities. RSVP for all activities

BYOP and Lemonade Stand
The Office of the President and President Vanya Quiñones will host a “Bring Your Own Picnic” party. Employees are invited to bring their lunch and a picnic blanket to the Main Quad, where free lemonade will be provided.

Wednesday, July 10

Field Day Round 2
Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs Ben Corpus will host the second annual Staff and Faculty Field Day. Challenge your colleagues to giant Jenga, test your chess-playing skills, or show off your dance moves on the Pump It Up machine as we take over the Otter Student Union. We'll also have board games, lawn games, billiards and table tennis for some friendly competition. Enjoy popsicles, music and a chance to bond and connect with your fellow Otters.

Join Alan Fisher, Interim CFO and Vice President for Administration and Finance, for afternoon appetizers and conversation with colleagues. No host bar is available.

Summer Spokes Bike Ride
Bring a bike or check one out from the Recreation Center to join Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Andrew Lawson on a leisurely ride around the campus. After the ride, Otter employees can cool down with a popsicle.

Monterey Bay Scavenger Hunt 
Get ready to show off your clue-solving ability with a team of colleagues or work individually during the Monterey Bay Scavenger Hunt hosted by Associate Vice President for University Advancement Rick Paradis. Staff will use a list of clues to find items or complete tasks around campus. Each team or individual will receive a “passport” that will be stamped for each completed item. Those who complete the passport will be entered into a prize drawing.

All events are voluntary, but we hope to see many Otter staff and faculty participate. Please seek approval or communicate with your supervisor when attending campus events.
