Q: What is your current job title and what are some of your duties?

A: Sales Manager at Embassy Suites by Hilton Monterey Bay. I am responsible for booking conferences and groups with sleeping rooms and meeting spaces, meeting or exceeding assigned revenue goals both individually and as a team, conducting a successful, aggressive solicitation involving outside sales calls, site tours and attending mixers/events.

Q: What was your favorite class at CSUMB?

A: California Transect, hands down. Nothing can beat taking a 2-week camping trip with teachers and classmates. We laughed, learned, and created memories that we will all treasure for a lifetime!

Q: Do you have any memorable moments while attending CSUMB that you would like to share?

A: While attending CSUMB from 2002 – 2006 I was part of a smaller school which gave me the opportunity to create bonds with so many students that I still cherish today. I could talk about my time there for hours. Being part of Student House & Residential Life and working with other RA’s to navigate through school and being Student Leaders. I loved being part of such an amazing university and really miss those days.

Q: How has CSUMB helped you get to where you are today?

A: I work at a hotel which is similar to working in Student Housing. I am able to problem solve and interact with a variety of guests and provide them with the best customer service possible.

Q: Do you have any helpful tips for incoming freshman/transfer students?

A: Attend events, join study groups, and organizations, and create those friendships that will last you for years to come. They may help you further your career in the future and help support you succeed in life.

Q: Do you have any helpful tips for new alumni entering the workforce?

A: Use the CSUMB Alumni Association in helping you get in touch with alumni that have a similar career path. They are the ones that have experienced it firsthand and can give you advice on what to and not to do to further your career.

Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?

A: I enjoy traveling near and far, spending time outdoors (camping, hiking, walking), attending concerts, and people-watching at any and all opportunities.
