RAFT Weekend is our annual homecoming here at CSUMB! Every year we come together, as otters do, to form a raft as a campus community including students, staff, faculty, alumni, and family. Come join this year's RAFT and be part of a campus tradition!

Friday, October 14

Friday MTB Ride

12 - 4 p.m. | Main Quad

Join Recreation for our free Friday Mountain Bike Rides. You will get a free bike rental and helmet. We lead "No Drop Rides," which means that you will never be left behind, EVER. We will take you on a ride from the Otter Cycle Center to the Fort Ord National Monument, only 1.5 miles away. With over 82 miles of trails, each ride will be different and tailored to the group's ability.

MB Madness

1 - 4 p.m. | Main Quad

Come be a part of this famed RAFT Weekend tradition with live music and local food vendors, and compete in a basketball competition alongside our CSUMB athletes. MB Madness is open to all students, staff, faculty, and families.

Campus Tour

2 p.m. | OSU Lobby

Join CSUMB students on an in-person campus tour. The tour begins at the Otter Student Union. We will tour the inside of one of our First Year / Freshmen Residence Halls and the following academic buildings: The Chapman Science Academic Center, Tanimura and Antle Family Memorial Library, Business and Information Technology Building, and the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. (Tour will be approximately 1 hour walking around campus.)

Soccer Game vs. East Bay

4:00 and 7:30 p.m. | Cardinale Stadium

Support the men's and women's soccer teams as they battle Cal State East Bay!

Alumni Paint Night

6 - 8 p.m. | Alumni and Visitor Center

Join us for a night of guided step-by-step painting at CSUMB with local artist and fellow alumnus Anastasiya Bachmanova. Drinks and snacks included! Registration is required, and the cost is $25/per person. Parking is not included.

Family Trivia Night

7 - 9 p.m. | The Rookery

Join us to test your general knowledge on history, pop culture, and more at family trivia night! Compete against your fellow otters to win prizes!

Saturday, October 15

The Plunge

8 a.m. | The Tides Hotel

Though we don't see much snow here, our water temps are chilling. Take the plunge into Monterey Bay and joy a warm beverage afterward.

Campus Tour

11 a.m. | OSU Lobby

Faculty Led Fort Ord Hike

1 p.m. | Parking lot at 8th Ave and Gigling Rd

A rich history, diverse habitat, and bountiful recreation opportunities await you at the Fort Ord National Monument. Another coastal gem with more than 86 miles of trails provides opportunities to hike alongside an MB professor.

Alumni Wine Tasting and Bocce Ball

1 - 3 p.m. | Blue Fox Cellars

Join us for wine tasting, bocce ball, and snacks with your fellow otter alumni at the Blue Fox Cellars Wine Tasting Room in Carmel Valley! Registration is required, and the cost is $25/person.

Werk Witch

7 p.m. | OSU Ballroom

Celebrate the beautiful history of drag culture with our Werk Witch Drag Show. Werk Witch is an intersectional drag show that encourages drag queens, kings, and non-binary performers to let their brilliance and diva shine bright like a diamond.

Whale Watching

Varied | Monterey Bay

Get a once in a lifetime educational and sightseeing experience in the beautiful Monterey Bay, which is home to a variety of unique marine species.

Sunday, October 16

Brunch with the President

9 a.m. | OSU Main Quad Plaza

Join us for brunch with the president in celebration of Reunion and Family Traditions weekend. Vanya Quiñones welcomes all families, alumni, students, faculty, staff, and community members to attend and fellowship with their otter community. Food and refreshments are provided at no cost. Registration is required for this exclusive event.

Community Picnic

12 p.m. | East Campus

Bring the family and relax at Schoonover park. There are playgrounds, benches, dog parks, and grassy areas. Bring a blanket and your own food to enjoy time with members of the MB community.

Soccer Game vs Stanislaus State

2 p.m. | Cardinale Stadium

Support the MB soccer team as they compete against Stanislaus State!
