Faculty Information About Student Accommodations

Students may also be authorized to receive alternate formats of text. Examples of formats offered include e-text, PDFs converted via optical character recognition, digital audio, large print, and braille.

Upon receiving an accommodation letter with an alternative formats accommodation, SDR will work directly with the student to ensure they receive the requested alternate formats for their courses.

Students authorized for alternate format  materials may need assignment extensions for the initial four-weeks of class due to the length of time it may take to provide the converted materials. Faculty are responsible for providing authorized students with all handouts electronically in .doc or .docx form, or Optimal Character Recognition PDF. Alternatively, ten days prior to dissemination, faculty may send the handouts to SDR for conversion at sdr_alternate_formats@csumb.edu.
