First Year Scholarship Request
RISE alumni attending their first year in a higher education academic institution and who have stayed committed to the RISE program during high school are eligible to apply for the First-Year Scholarship disbursements of $1,000.
Application requirements
You can apply if:
- It has been less than a year since you've graduated from RISE
- You are a recent RISE graduate attending your first semester, second semester, first quarter, second quarter, or third quarter in college/university (i.e. first-year/freshmen students).
If this is NOT your first time asking RISE for scholarship funds, please refer to the RISE Renewal Scholarship.
Documentation needed to submit a request:
- Your Student ID number at your academic institution
- Up-to-date contact information
- An email address you check and use frequently
- Proof of enrollment
- A copy of your current semester/quarter schedule that has your name somewhere on the image (screenshot, scanned image, etc.); or
- An unofficial transcript

Naming the Proof of enrollment File
In order to ensure timely disbursement of your scholarship, you must ensure that your proof of enrollment is properly named before you upload it through the google form.
Filenames should include your last name, first name, the phrase "Proof", the year you are requesting the first year scholarship disbursement, and the word "quarter" if your school operates by the quarter system or "semester" is your school operates by the semester system.
Filename format: Lastname_Firstname_Proof_Year_Quarter/Semester.filetype

Ensure you have all the required materials before completing the First-Year Scholarship Application Form
- Your Student ID number at your academic institution

- An email address you check and use frequently
- Proof of enrollment
