In the Know
Since its initial state investment in 2019, Project Rebound has grown from 9 to 20 California State University campuses, including CSUMB, creating a transformative support network for formerly incarcerated students. Annual reports to the State Legislature highlight the program’s remarkable success: exceptional retention and graduation rates, high GPAs, enrollment growth, and a recidivism rate of less than 1%. Recognized as a national model, Project Rebound demonstrates how California leverages the country’s largest four-year university system to address the impacts of mass incarceration with a cost-effective, life-affirming approach.
Project Rebound Honored with National Award

The award affirms the impact of Project Rebound programs across all participating CSU campuses and elevates the voices of justice-impacted scholars in higher education.
