How to Request Additional Units

Undergraduate students have an unit enrollment cap which is based upon their major, level, and academic standing. Students may request additional units beyond their maximum allotment by submitting an online additional unit authorization request. The approved request must be submitted to the Office of the Registrar prior to the end of the Add/Drop Period.

Unit caps for undergraduate students are as follows:

  • Students in Senior Standing or 2nd degree: 20 units
  • Business majors (All Levels): 20 units
  • Sustainable Hospitality majors (All Levels): 20 units
  • All other undergraduate majors: 18 units

Please submit the online additional unit authorization request. Your advisor will review and forward any approved requests to the Registrar's Office for processing. You will receive email notification from the Registrar's Office when the update has been completed in OASIS and you are able to enroll in additional course(s).
