Campus Planning
CSU Monterey Bay’s campus plans guide continued redevelopment of the former Fort Ord site through a Board of Trustees–approved Campus Master Plan and supporting functional plans (e.g., stormwater, landscape, and habitat management). The Master Plan provides a framework for physical development through 2035, planning for an on-campus enrollment of 12,700 Full time equivalent students and 1,776 Full time equivalent faculty/staff and approximately 2.6 million gross square feet of net new space spanning academics, student life, recreation, institutional partnerships, and housing. It also includes design features focused on open space, utilities, and sustainability—such as strengthening transportation demand management to reduce vehicle trips and prioritize walking and bicycling.
