Welcome to the Raft!
We are excited that you are about to become an official Otter, joining an amazingly involved and diverse community of over 7,500 students. We want to help you feel at home on campus! Keep an eye out for a Tuesdays with Monte email. Tuesdays with Monte is a weekly communication for new students. We will share important action items and deadlines, introduce you to campus resources and activities, and put you in touch with people here to support your success.
Otter Orientation
Orientation is an opportunity to learn about campus resources, meet friends, hear from an Academic Advisor, and develop connections with fellow students, staff, and faculty. Learn more and choose your preferred on-campus orientation date below.
- Confirm your Enrollment and pay the $100 fee.
- Your student account will be created 24-48 hours after you have paid the Enrollment Confirmation Fee.
- Upload OtterCard photo
- Once you have paid your Enrollment Confirmation, check your personal email account for an email giving you access to our photo upload site. From there, you can upload the photo of your choice as your OtterCard photo.
- You will receive your OtterCard at your New Student Orientation.
- Submit transcripts
- Check out on-campus housing options and meal plans
- Confirm your Enrollment and pay the $100 fee.
- Login to MyRaft with the CSU Monterey Login button using your CSUMB username (e.g. mont1234) and password to register for a New Student Otter Orientation session.
- Only students who have confirmed their intent to enroll at CSUMB and have paid their enrollment confirmation fee will be able to login and register. It will take 24-48 hours for your information to be added to the MyRaft system for you to be able to register for an orientation session.
- Select one date that is most convenient for you and your supporters.

Guest Policy
Guests must be registered by their student in order to attend an orientation session. Payment of the guest fee is required prior to your orientation date. Refunds are permitted up to 2 weeks prior to the session date. Email your refund request and include your student’s name, date of payment and reason for the refund. Please note that a processing fee is charged, and refunds can take from 2-3 weeks to post. Fees are transferable to a different date.Accommodations
CSUMB works to make events accessible for all. If you need assistance due to a disability to attend the events, please contact us via email or call 831-582-4693 at least 10 days prior to the event.
