Resource Sharing

Borrowing from Other Libraries

Looking for something we don't have in the University Library? OneSearch is the University Library's searching tool. The CSU+ Resource Sharing service provides CSUMB students, staff and faculty access to books, journals, digital articles, book chapters and more, all in one place. OneSearch has been adopted by all 23 CSU libraries giving the CSU system a shared platform to collaborate and share resources.

All items can be requested using OneSearch. Digital copies you requested are available to be downloaded from your library account-requests page. To access your account, go to the CSUMB Library home page, click on My Library Account under Quick Links on the left-hand side of the page, and log in. Once you're logged in, click Requests to find your requested items. Physical items that are sent to the library for pickup are placed in lockers located right outside of the library building.

Locker Location:
Off of Divarty Street, outside of the Tanimura & Antle Family Memorial Library
Address: 3054 Divarty Street, Seaside, CA 93955

  • You must be a current CSUMB student, faculty, or staff member to use these services.
  • If requesting a book title or Journal title, search OneSearch and select the "Everything" or you can search by book chapter title or article title select the “Articles” view to determine whether the item is available and can be requested through OneSearch. If not available within the CSU system, you can fill out a ILL request form to request an item. To speed up the request process, please fill out as much bibliographic information as possible on the request form.
  • Due to copyright restrictions, you will not be able to request a full digital copy of a book. You will only be able to request a PDF copy of a book chapter. Please include the chapter title or number you are requesting in the request form.
  • Books will be returned to the lending library if not picked up. When received, articles will be made available as PDF files for retrieval from your library account-requests page. Due to copyright restrictions, links become inactive after 99 days so we recommend saving the PDF onto a USB drive, your personal device, or to your Google drive.
  • The lending library charges for non-returned books. These charges will be passed onto the requester if the items are not returned.
  • Average turnaround time for resource sharing requests is generally 1-5 working days for journal articles and 2-10 working days for books. Hard to locate items and items coming from outside of California may take longer.
  • Users may check on the status of all of their resource sharing requests at any time via their library account.
  • For more information about these services contact us via electronic mail at: library_document_delivery@csumb.edu
  • NOTICE: The Library generally only borrows and lends videos from within the CSU system. Exceptions are made.
  • CSUMB Faculty members who desire videos for classroom viewing should first consult the Library's existing video collection for appropriate titles. Faculty may also wish to contact their librarian subject selectors to inquire about the possibility of purchasing videos, CDs and other media for classroom instruction or the library collection.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Susanne Rodriguez, Interlibrary Loan Services - Email: surodriguez@csumb.edu; Phone: (831) 582-4325; Library, Bldg. 508, Room 3138

Suggest a Book

The CSUMB Library welcomes your ideas on materials you'd like to see added to our collections. We will consider all suggestions as the budget allows. Use the Suggest a Book Purchase form to request materials (book or other media) not already owned by CSUMB Library or available through CSU+ that you need for your research and/or academic instruction support.
