CSUMB’s Buddy Program matches American CSUMB students with international CSUMB students in order to promote intercultural friendship and awareness. This Buddy Program includes a mutual agreement to share personal reflection (e.g. culture shock, political issues) as well as participate in activities together. The commitment is for the academic year.

"Guillermo Rodriguez is uniquely suited to educate others about the consequences of bad habits.

The 35-year-old Salinas man is a diabetic who also spent three years in prison as the result of drug and alcohol addiction.

Today Rodriguez is eight years clean, boasts a 3.8 GPA, works full time ... and has just embarked on a three-week trip to Mexico to educate the Mayan people about nutrition and exercise."
