International Student Scholarship

CSUMB offers a scholarship opportunity specifically for international students - the International Student Scholarship, designed to cover the non-resident portion of tuition.

To be considered, international students must complete the General Financial Aid Application and follow the instructions below.

How to Apply:

  1. Visit the CSUMB Scholarships Portal.

  2. Scroll through the list of scholarships to find the International Student Scholarship.

  3. Complete the General Scholarship Application

  4. Be sure to:

    • Complete the general scholarship application essay. 

    • Upload unofficial transcripts.

    • Select that you are an international student in your application.

    • Clearly describe your financial need in the section that asks about “obstacles.” Financial need is a key requirement for this scholarship.

Note: The scholarship amount may vary by year and is intended to cover the non-resident portion of tuition.

CSUMB scholarships are only available to degree-seeking students at CSUMB, but all students are encouraged to seek out private, government, and non-profit scholarships available from thousands of organizations around the world. Some examples of these include:
