Better Together Teacher Summit Success!

The College of Education, CSUMB, held the third annual Better Together: California Teachers Summit, a free statewide day of learning and networking that is open to all California pre-K-12 teachers, teacher candidates and school administrators About 100 teachers gathered on Friday at CSU Monterey Bay for the third annual event that brings together not just educators in the region, but throughout California in 35 different locations. Former second lady Jill Biden, an English instructor at Northern Virginia Community College, kicked off the day with a speech about her experiences as a teacher, a mother, and the wife of a vice president. The half-day conference gave teachers an opportunity to find said support from one another. During breakout sessions, called “ed camps,” teacher discussed topics that are most relevance to their needs. On Friday they wanted to talk about transitional Kindergarten, English learners, curriculum development, and classroom management. The attendees are looking forward to the fourth Better Together: California Teachers Summit in summer of 2018!
