Web Editing Support

Self-Help Articles

Self-help articles can help editors solve some common technical issues. Reviewing these resources is recommended prior to formally requesting assistance.

Tickets and Project Requests

Tickets and project requests allow editors to get personalized assistance from Information Technology and University Communications. There are separate processes for requesting assistance from these two departments and each of these departments provide different kinds of assistance. IT provides technical assistance and University Communications provides content assistance.

Technical assistance

To request technical assistance from IT, section editors must submit a Website Support IT ticket.

Technical assistance includes but is not limited to:

  • Editing access
  • Broken page or unexpected error
  • Site disruption or inability to access content or pages in the website from the public side or dashboard
  • Search results accuracy
  • New site functionality

Content assistance

To request content assistance from University Communications, section editors must submit a project request form.

Content assistance includes but is not limited to:

  • Editing content types and fields that are not accessible to section editors
  • Starting a project to add a college or department news section
  • Editing an existing top navigation
  • Adding or editing left-side navigation on one page
  • Removing a restricted content block
  • Mirroring a content block from another section of the website

For tracking and scheduling reasons, University Communications cannot accept emailed requests or multiple requests of different topics in a single form. If you would like to discuss your web change ideas or needs, please complete the project request form and University Communications will be happy to connect with you to scope the work and determine an achievable timeline.
