Rainbow Raft Pride Center
Mission Statement
The purpose of CSUMB’s Rainbow Raft Pride Center is to provide an open, safe, and inclusive space and to support queer intersectionality across the entire spectrum of the rainbow. The center aims to support all students by providing resources, engaging in advocacy, and offering educational and cultural programs relevant to the LGBTQ+ community and their allies.
Our Space
The Rainbow Raft Pride Center opened its doors in May of 2024, as a powerful early kick-off into the year’s Pride Month. However, there’s more to Pride than the month of June, so we’re happy to have students come and join us at the Rainbow Raft Pride Center to lounge, build community, and get connected to resources. We’re located in the Student Center (Building 12) and are open from Monday to Friday from 10am - 5pm, so feel free to stop by! All students, staff, and faculty from across spectrums are welcome.
What We Do
- Foster belongingness through creating welcoming and affirming spaces to commune and connect
- Develop educational materials and programming to aid in exploration of identity, celebrate the diversity of the LGBTQ+ community, and support allyship within and beyond the community
- Provide information to support in navigating on-campus and off-campus resources
- Highlight the history and present of activism, advocacy, and creative contribution within the LGBTQ+ community to build intergenerational connection, increase representation, and celebrate their foundational work
- Build upon the history of LGBTQ+ elders, role models, and present-day activists by creating programming to inspire and provide opportunity for continued advocacy, action, and civic engagement
