The partnership between the Monterey County chapter of the NAACP and CSUMB celebrated its 10th anniversary by honoring community leaders and social justice advocates. Three CSUMB students received awards in the Youth Black Excellence category, and two employees received African American Advocate and Champion awards.

SEASIDE, Calif., Jan. 29, 2021 — CSU Monterey Bay’s College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (CAHSS) building has achieved LEED Platinum, the highest certification awarded by the nonprofit U.S. Green Building Council.

As the nation’s focus turns to COVID-19 vaccinations, CSU Monterey Bay’s Master of Science Physician Assistant program is playing a vital role in helping Monterey County defeat the disease.

Even in a pandemic, Bright Futures continues to work diligently toward its goal of fostering progress in education outcomes in Monterey County. Bright Futures — CSUMB’s community partnership between local education, government, business, and non-profit groups — is working to boost the number of students applying for college financial aid applications before the March 2 deadline.

CSU Monterey Bay’s Master of Science Physician Assistant Program celebrated a major milestone for the Class of 2022, its second cohort of MSPA students, with a virtual White Coat Ceremony on Feb. 13.

In the past, the annual Employee Appreciation breakfast has taken place in the University Ballroom, with a buffet breakfast spread ready for the early morning influx of faculty and staff members. It’s been the venue where President Ochoa presents the President’s Medal to one faculty, one staff and one MPP for exemplary service.
