Summer 2025 Classroom Technology Improvements

As part of Information Techology’s ongoing commitment to supporting a consistent learning environment, we will make several classroom improvements this summer. These updates will help refresh equipment, keep things running smoothly, and prepare classrooms for the new semester.

What to Expect in Academic Spaces

Some classrooms may be temporarily unavailable while our work is underway. Please check room availability in 25Live ahead of time when planning events or meetings.

Maintenance and Testing

Over the summer, we’ll perform campus-wide maintenance in academic spaces to ensure they provide a consistent, high-quality classroom experience throughout the academic year.

This includes:

  • Testing AV systems (projectors and audio),
  • Performing preventative and corrective maintenance (including cleaning ceiling-mounted projectors)
  • Updating software or replacing outdated hardware as needed.

Classroom Projector Upgrades

Outdated projectors will be replaced with brighter, more reliable models. In total, 20 projectors will be installed in select classrooms to improve image quality and enhance usability for instruction.

Scheduled Classroom Replacements:

  • Tanimura & Antle: Room 1173
  • Heron Hall: Rooms 131, 156, 170
  • Valley Hall: Rooms A115, A116, B115, B116

BIT Infrastructure & Building Upgrades

Additionally, the Business and Information Technology Building (BIT) will undergo significant upgrades to enhance and standardize classroom technology experience in 13 academic locations in BIT. These upgrades will standardize the teaching experience with other equipment on campus, streamline learning experiences, and improve our ability to provide support.

These improvements will occur over the entire summer so make sure to keep checking 25Live for scheduling academic spaces in the BIT building.

Support for Summer Events & Groups

Despite the upgrades, IT will continue supporting summer conferences, workshops, and programs. If you're coordinating an event, please reach out early to ensure adequate support and scheduling.
