  • If an immigration officer declares that exigent circumstances* exist and demands immediate access, comply with the officer’s request and contact UPD immediately
  • If federal officials or agents approach you regarding immigration status, please refer them to our Title IX/DHR Director, Nicholas Babaian and the AVP for Community and Belonging, Nizhoni Chow-Garcia
  • Officials or agents can also be directed to the Title IX/DHR Office, located in Gavilan Hall, Building 201, Suite 211.

* An exigent circumstance refers to an urgent or emergency situation that requires immediate action or attention, particularly in legal or administrative contexts. In immigration-related cases, exigent circumstances might include sudden medical emergencies, threats to personal safety, or other time-sensitive events that could impact an individual's ability to meet deadlines or comply with normal procedures. Each case is reviewed individually to determine if the circumstances warrant flexibility or expedited support.
