Greek Life

Greek Life is a wonderful way to get engaged at California State Monterey Bay! Students create lifelong relationships, they give back to their communities, and develop key leadership skills and competencies. CSUMB Greek Life consists of 10 Greek Letter Organizations: 3 fraternities and 7 sororities, governed by the United Sorority and Fraternity Council. (USFC).

Greek Letter Organizations

Greek Letter Organizations (GLOs) promote academics, leadership, philanthropy, community and culture. The United Sorority and Fraternity Council (USFC) at CSUMB is dedicated to fostering cultural awareness, engaging in community service, enhancing leadership, and supporting academic excellence.

Academics

In Spring 2019, 29% of the Greek community achieved a GPA of 3.5 or above, earning a spot on the Dean's List, showcasing their dedication to academic excellence alongside their leadership and service activities.

Leadership 

Greek Life Organizations (GLO) make up 4% of the student body,  fostering a close-knit community through social, academic, and philanthropic activities.

Philanthropy 

Each semester, the average CSUMB Greek member dedicates around 30 hours to supporting their philanthropy and community through various service projects.

The United Sorority and Fraternity Council (USFC) promotes cultural awareness by celebrating diversity and fostering an inclusive environment.

Community

Sorority and fraternity chapters typically consist of around 16 members, creating a close-knit community that fosters strong bonds and meaningful connections.
