National Recognition for Kinesiology

May 29, 2024

The National Strength and Conditioning Association has once again selected CSUMB’s Department of Kinesiology as a “Recognized Strength and Conditioning Program.”

“This is a great honor that provides many benefits to our students and promotes their success in school and in their careers. We are proud that we have been recognized by the NSCA since the early days of our kinesiology program,” said Kent J. Adams, professor and department chair.

The NSCA’s Education Recognition Program distinguishes schools with strength and conditioning or personal training curricula that prepares students for NSCA certification exams. The recognition is the first step in laying the foundation for ensuring excellence for students in the classroom and long-term professional success after graduation, Adams said.

The NSCA is a nonprofit professional organization dedicated to advancing the strength and conditioning profession around the world. It is the world leader in bridging the gap between science and application in strength and conditioning.
