At Cal State Monterey Bay, you’ll learn from professors, lecturers, and clinical social workers with years of real-world practice in the field.

Many have served diverse communities across California and beyond, bringing expertise in areas such as clinical social work, child welfare, community advocacy, policy development, school-based practice and behavioral health. They are also engaged educators who connect classroom learning with applied experience, preparing students to lead with compassion and integrity.

At the CSUMB Social Work Department, you will also receive personalized guidance and support from dedicated staff and coordinators, including those who oversee practicum placements, Title IV-E initiatives and student outreach. Together, our faculty and staff are committed to equipping graduates to advance social and economic justice while addressing the unique needs of multicultural and multilingual populations on the Central Coast and beyond.
