Science Student Success (S3) Program

The Science Student Success (S3) Program is designed to support undergraduate students in the sciences, specifically those who are from the tri-county area, considered first-generation, low-income, and underserved in the sciences.

S3 Scholars are students who are members of the S3 Program. Our S3 Scholars currently consist of freshmen and sophomores who participate in services such as chemistry and math tutoring, peer mentoring, social events, growth mindset workshops, progress reports, and more. 

S3 primarily supports students in the following majors:

  • Agricultural Plant and Soil Sciences (AGPS)
  • Biology (BIO)
  • Environmental Science, Technology, & Policy (ESTP)
  • Environmental Studies (ENSTU)
  • Marine Science (MSCI)
  • Mathematics (MATH)
  • Mechatronics Engineering (MECH)
  • Computing and Design (SCD)
  • Statistics & Data Science (SDS)

Common Questions

To be an S3 Scholar, we recommend that you are a Biology (BIO), Environmental Science, Technology & Policy (ESTP), Environmental Studies (ENSTU) Marine Science (MSCI), Agricultural Plant and Soil Sciences, Mathematics or Statistics, Mechatronics, or Computing and Design major. Once you have been accepted as an S3 scholar, you will be added to our S3 Canvas page. All of our events and resources can be accessed there.
