What can I do?
Here are ways you can be involved and help to make changes.
Donate a puzzle
Puzzles help inmates to keep their minds occupied. Kevion Lyman, a Pastoral Care Services worker at the California Medical Facility's hospice unit works on a puzzle as he talks with David Maldonado the Community Resource manager. The hospice unit walls are decorated with puzzles that have been completed over the years.
Inmates in many of California's prisons and juvenile halls work on puzzles to help keep their minds occupied. The puzzles also are used as decoration in the facilities.
The Monterey Bay Justice Project is collecting new, unopened puzzles to donate to these facilities.
To donate a puzzle contact the Monterey Bay Justice Project advisor, Dr. Sam Robinson at 831-582-3419 or email justiceproject@csumb.edu.
