How to Apply for Housing

Before starting your housing application, incoming new students must confirm their enrollment. Please visit the Admitted Students webpage to complete this step. 

Incoming New Student:

Step 1 - If you have never logged into the Housing Portal, register here. If you have logged in before, log in here.

Step 2 - Complete and submit your housing application; you’ll have a chance to notate room and meal plan preferences.

Step 3 - Submit your $50 application fee and a $150 housing down payment. This initial payment will be credited toward your first rent charge.

Continuing Student:

Step 1 - Sign in to your MyHousing Portal and start your application.

Step 2 - Complete and submit your housing application; you’ll have a chance to notate room and meal plan preferences.

Step 3 - Submit your $50 application fee and a $150 housing down payment. This initial payment will be credited toward your first rent charge.

Housing Eligibility Requirements

Before you apply for on-campus housing at CSUMB, please review our eligibility requirements. 

Requirement Details

Full-time enrollment

12 units for undergraduates; varies by program for graduate programs. 

Degree pursuit

Must be pursuing a degree at Cal State Monterey Bay

Payment history

Payments must be up to date

Family housing

Applicants must be full-time students and meet at least one of the following criteria:  married, domestic partnership or dependent child under 18.
