Dr. Gabriella Gutierrez y Muhs, Editor of “Presumed Incompetent: The Intersections of Race and Class for Women in Academia”
Presumed Incompetent is a path breaking account of the working lives of women faculty of color and their challenges as they navigate the often hostile terrain of higher education, including hiring, promotion, tenure, and relations with students, colleagues, and administrators.
Dr. Gabriella Gutierrez y Muhs (Professor of Modern Languages and Women Studies, Seattle University), lead editor of Presumed Incompetent,will share findings and highlights from the collection and lead a Q&A on the contours of race, gender,and class as they shape the experiences of faculty& staff at CSUMB.
