Diverse Perspectives Call for Submission

August 22, 2022

Dear Colleagues,

The Office of Inclusive Excellence and Sustainability (OIES) launched Diverse Perspectives in 2021 as a forum where campus constituent groups could provide their views on prevailing topics. To date, we have published three editions with more scheduled for the upcoming year.

As the CSUMB campus community welcomes our new CSUMB President, we thought this would be a good opportunity to share our perspectives on what makes CSUMB such a unique university and why this presidency is critical to the success and future of the region. We believe the members of our campus community hold powerful diverse perspectives that have the power to shape, influence and advance our campus’s ability to foster an inclusive environment where each of us can grow and thrive. For this reason, we are issuing an open call for submissions to all students, alumni, faculty, staff, administrators, and community members for our next edition, so aptly entitled: Framing the Future: Reflections & Insights for Fostering an Inclusive and Welcoming Environment.

In terms of guidelines, you have wide latitude in developing your submission, but we ask that you thoughtfully reflect on the relevance of CSUMB past, present and future. You might want to consider your perspective on the founding vision, the strategic direction of the university, current challenges and successes experienced on campus or in the broader society, which may translate into continuous improvement opportunities for the future. We are very open to hearing from you and welcome your diverse perspective.

Please contact Vanessa Lopez-Littleton if you have any questions or require additional information. We hope you will agree to participate in this important work. We are confident that your perspective will benefit all readers of the upcoming edition of Diverse Perspectives@CSUMB.

If you are interested in participating in this edition, please respond to this email to let me know if you are interested by 5 p.m. on Sept. 6, 2022.
