Office of Inclusive Excellence

IE Funding Request

Advancing Inclusive Excellence

The Office of Inclusive Excellence funds initiatives that support the University Strategic Plan Goal #2: Inclusive Excellence (USP Goal #2). Please review USP Goal #2

Award Criteria

Preference is given to programs, activities, and opportunities that:

  • Align with one or more of USP Goal #2 strategies;
  • serve as models for replication; and/or
  • demonstrate inter-departmental collaboration and engage a variety of student, faculty, and staff.

Funding

Funding depends on the number of proposals and available amount each academic year. Typical awards start at $200 and must be used in the current fiscal year. Funds may be used to support outside speakers, materials, rental costs, hospitality, and other services. Please note that awarded funding can only be transferred to CSUMB accounts. OIE will not be responsible for making detailed arrangements (e.g. setting up contracts, ordering catering, arranging travel, etc.).

Eligibility

CSUMB faculty, staff and students on behalf of departments, programs and student groups are eligible to apply. Funding for initiatives (including travel) must benefit CSUMB rather than the individual. If you wish to apply for travel funding, the focus of the conference/training/educational experience must be related to USP Goal #2.

Submission and Notification Process

Proposals are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis, however, funding requests must be submitted at least 60 days prior to event date. Only completed submissions through the google form will be considered. Proposals are reviewed by committee and will be evaluated based on how closely the proposal aligns with USP Goal #2 strategies, quality of proposal, appropriate budget, available funding, and other criteria. Once your proposal has been reviewed, you will receive notification within approximately 2 weeks by email.
