FreshAccess

FreshAccess is a CSUMB Basic Needs Initiative program that enables students to receive fresh produce at select local farmers markets.

Goals

  • To alleviate food insecurity amongst CSUMB students
  • To positively impact student health and well-being
  • To increase student access to and intake of fresh produce
  • To increase CSUMB student usage of local farmers markets

Participate:

We have two community partners, Everyone's Harvest and Monterey Bay Certified Farmers Markets. You will need to choose a farmers' market to receive vouchers that are good ONLY at the following markets:

Monterey Bay Certified Farmers' Markets

Day Time Location
Tuesdays 9am-1pm The Barnyard in Carmel, CA
Fridays 8am-12pm Del Monte Shopping Center in Monterey, CA
Saturdays 8am-12pm Cabrillo College in Aptos, CA

The Monterey Bay Certified Farmers' Market vouchers are in denominations of $5, never expire and are good at any of the markets listed above. Upon completion of the Basic Needs Referral Form, you will be contacted by a representative from the CSUMB Basic Needs Initiative with information on how to retrieve your vouchers.

Everyone's Harvest Farmers' Markets

Day Time Location Perks
Sundays 10am-2pm Marina Village Shopping Center in Marina, CA Participates Cal-Fresh market match and can be pre-ordered for pick-up.
Mondays 3pm-7pm Central and Grand Ave in Pacific Grove, CA Participates Cal-Fresh market match
Tuesdays 11am-4pm East Alisal in Salinas, CA Participates Cal-Fresh market match and accepts WIC.
Wednesdays 11am-3:30pm (May-Oct) Natividad Hospital in Salinas, CA Participates in Cal-Fresh market match and the Fresh Rx program.
Fridays 12:30pm-5:30pm (May-Nov) Salinas Valley Memorial in Salinas, CA Participates Cal-Fresh market match
