Enriching the academic experience of students from all majors with research opportunities that deepens their knowledge and sharpens their skills.
Using the knowledge and skills you’ve gained to find solutions to real problems facing our world is one of the most important and impactful aspects of higher education. And this is exactly what you’ll engage in through CSUMB’s Undergraduate Research Opportunities Center (UROC).
At the UROC, you’ll engage in mentored research experiences through innovative programs designed to take your knowledge, skills and education to distinctive heights and set you apart in the eyes of graduate schools and employers.
Our research programs are funded by some of the most respected companies and organizations in the world, including Apple and the National Science Foundation, among many others.
Your work through the UROC will address some of the most pressing issues facing our world, and could take you across the country to other elite institutions and events. And you’ll have the opportunity to present your findings at major conferences and symposiums, as well as published in respected professional journals.
“Being accepted into the LSAMP program through UROC will allow me to gain meaningful experiences prior to committing to a graduate degree program so I can be more confident about my future decisions."
- Annabelle McCarthy, UROC LSAMP Researcher
