Student Assistant - CSU Guidelines

Student Assistant - Classification Standards

Student Assistants are CSU students who work in various areas of a campus. Student Assistants may work up to, but not in excess of, 20 hours per week during academic periods and may work up to 40 hours per week during academic break periods. If this is your student's first state-side student assist position on campus, they will need to complete the Student Employee Sign-in Packet. The completed packet must be taken to the Campus Service Center for an agent to verify original documentation for the Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9).

State student assistant employees use CMS Student/HR to enter all work hours and print a monthly pay voucher. Please visit the Payroll website for more information.
