Academic Calendar by Term

Each term at Cal State Monterey Bay comes with key deadlines for registration, payments, course changes and more. Use this page to find the dates you need to know to avoid late fees, stay enrolled, and make informed decisions about your academic progress. Deadlines apply to new students, continuing students, and those preparing to graduate. Be sure to review your term and add key dates to your calendar.

August 1

Last day to pay registration tuition and fees, or have a financial aid extension of payment in place, or have a third party authorization form covering registration tuition and fees on file with Student Accounting. Otherwise, enrollment may be cancelled for non-payment.

Last day to request a Leave of Absence for the Fall 2025 semester.

August 8

Open enrollment begins. Students may add or drop classes; enrollment appointments are not required.

August 20-21

Student move-in.

August 24

Last day to officially cancel registration and drop all classes online to receive a full refund of mandatory fees.

Last day to register without a $25 late registration fee.

August 25

Classes begin

August 25-September 9

ADD/DROP period begins. Students can ADD online through the second week of the add/drop period and DROP classes online. Full/closed classes require permission to enroll; students can add open classes if space is available and they meet all enrollment requirements. For students who drop all classes, tuition and fees will be prorated based on drop date.

September 1

Labor Day (campus closed).

September 9

Last day to add/drop without a W, request for CR/NC and to drop from full-time to part-time with full refund of state fee difference.

Last day for faculty to request to drop students for non-attendance or failure to meet course pre-requisites.

September 10

First day to request to withdraw from classes for serious and compelling reasons ("W" grade assigned if approved). Students requesting to enroll after the add/drop deadline must submit a Late Registration Request.

September 22

Enrollment census date.

September 23

Last day for students to formally appeal Spring 2025 grades.

October 1

Deadline to certify dependent information in OASIS Student Center for Spring 2026 registration.

October 6

Winter 2026 and Spring 2026 class schedules published.

October 20

Winter 2026 and Spring 2026 registration begins for continuing students.

October 28

Last day to request to withdraw from all classes for serious and compelling reasons ("W" grade assigned if approved) and receive a pro-rated refund of mandatory fees.

November 11

Veteran's Day (campus closed).

November 19

Last day to request to withdraw for extenuating circumstances ("W" grade assigned if approved). Students must submit supporting documentation. Withdrawal requests submitted after this date will only be considered for extenuating circumstances outside of the student’s control.

November 24-26

Fall break and Thanksgiving holiday (campus closed Nov 27-28).

December 12

Last day of classes.

December 15-19

Assessment/final exam period.

December 23

Fall 2025 Grades due.

Last day for incomplete grades from Fall 2024 to be graded before they lapse to Incomplete charged.

December 24

Grades available in OASIS Student Center as they are posted.

December 25-January 1

Holidays observed (campus closed).

January 15

Diploma name deadline for Fall 2025 degree candidates.

Winter classes are offered via the College of Extended Education & International Programs (EEIP). Different rules, deadlines, and fees may apply to students enrolling in winter courses through EEIP. Learn more at csumb.edu/winter.
