Off-Campus Housing Resources

Welcome to the Off-Campus Housing Resource Page! While we do not manage or directly provide off-campus housing, we aim to equip you with valuable resources to support your housing search. This page offers a list of property management websites and other useful online resources. We encourage you to utilize these tools effectively to find housing options that meet your needs.

Average Rental Costs

All CSU campuses are required to identify the average rental costs of an apartment in the local area to assist students in understanding the costs of living while enrolled at a CSU. A recent market housing rental survey was completed in 2025 to determine the average rental rate for a two-bedroom, one-bath apartment.

The average monthly rental rate in the Monterey Bay area is $2,122.00, which includes units within a 10-mile radius of campus. Outside of the immediate Monterey, Marina, and Seaside areas, rates will vary from town to town depending on square footage, amenities, and location.

Area Apartment Type Average Monthly Cost
CSUMB East Campus Apartments two-bedroom, one-bath $1,181.84
Monterey, Marina, and Seaside Areas two-bedroom, one-bath $2,122.00
