First-Time Transfer
Making the transition from a community college to a four-year university is an exciting step, but it also comes with new challenges and expectations. At CSUMB, we recognize that transfer students bring valuable experiences, skills, and perspectives. At EOP we want to ensure they feel supported as they continue their academic journey.
All transfer students admitted into EOP are required to participate in our Transfer Bridge program. This mandatory program is designed to help students successfully transition to CSUMB by providing information, resources, and connections that support both academic and personal success.
Transfer Bridge:
During Transfer Bridge, students will:
- Learn more about the EOP program and its services
- Explore key university resources and support networks
- Begin planning for career and post-graduation goals
- Connect with EOP advisors, peer mentors, faculty, and staff
- Build community with fellow transfer students
Program Goals:
- Strengthen students’ commitment and connection to CSUMB through meaningful interactions with peers, instructors, and staff, while introducing EOP services, resources, and program requirements
- Prepare EOP transfer students for success by highlighting the differences between community college and university-level expectations, including academic workload and standards
- Introduce best practices for managing virtual classes and coursework at CSUMB
