A mechatronics student collaborating with a professor

Internships provide hands-on learning experiences, allowing students to apply knowledge gained in the classroom, in real-world settings. Internship experiences provide:

  • exposure to industry practices
  • clarify career goals
  • often lead to job opportunities

Students majoring in mechatronics engineering, are required to complete 60 hours of internship experience before graduating. Mechatronics engineering students in collaboration with the Educational Pathway Advisor, can navigate the internship research and application process together. Students seeking internship guidance, can schedule an appointment with their Educational Pathway Advisor.

UROC pairs undergraduate students who are interested in conducting research and ultimately applying to graduate school (Master or PhD) with a faculty mentor closely related to the students’ academic interests. To further prepare them for life beyond their undergraduate education, students engage in professional experiences, such as the presentation of their research at professional conferences and the publication of their work in peer-reviewed journals.
