FAQs

Q: The course is sold out. Is there a waitlist?

A: Yes. If you select the "Register" link when visiting the Eventbrite registration page, it will prompt you to the waitlist if the course is full. The waitlist is limited to 10 persons. When a ticket is refunded, deleted, or canceled, it is released to the waitlist in order. The ticket will be held for 24 hours before being released to the next person on the waitlist. This process will continue until the ticket is re-registered.

Q: Can I just walk-in and hope for a seat?

A: Yes. However, CSUMB's agreement with Presidio of Monterey Fire Department is limited to 12 seats reserved in their community class. You can try to attend as a walk-in and get a no-show seat on a first-come-first-serve basis. Once the 12 seat capacity is reached with registered participants, any walk-ins who wish to take the course are responsible for the $25 up-front course fee. In this case, CSUMB will not cover the cost for you to take the course. All walk-ins are encouraged to bring $25 CASH to the training location.

This course is not held at CSUMB, but at Stillwell Hall (4260 Gigling Road, Seaside). Please arrive early to attend the course. Doors close promptly at 9 a.m. and late arrivals will not be allowed to participate.

Q: Will I get a certificate or card after I complete the class?

Yes. The American Heart Association Heartsaver certificate will be good for two years.
