Articulation

Articulation is a formal agreement between two or more colleges or universities documenting the transfer policies for a specific academic program or degree. These articulation agreements spell out how specific courses completed at other institutions meet specific CSUMB requirements. Articulated courses are not to be construed as "equivalent", but rather as comparable courses (i.e., the course content includes similar outcomes and supports advancement to the next level of instruction).

ASSIST

You can find information about transfer articulations and major preparation at all public California community colleges on assist.org. ASSIST is an online student-transfer information system that shows how course credits earned at a California Community College (CCC) can be applied when transferred to CSUMB.

Please bear in mind that ASSIST is only designed to provide information related to transfer from California public community colleges and California public universities (CSU or UC). Information about transfer from private or out-of-state institutions is not available on ASSIST.

ASSIST has recently undergone a major revision. CSUMB articulation agreements and major requirements are published for the 2019-20 academic year. Previous academic years will be updated shortly.

CSUMB participates in the Course Identification Numbering System (C-ID) and the Transfer Evaluation System (TES).

C-ID

C-ID is a numbering system designed to assign identifying designations (C-ID numbers) to common transfer courses within California. Most C-ID numbers identify lower-division transferable courses commonly articulated between the California Community Colleges (CCC) and universities (University of California (UC), California State University (CSU), as well as some independent colleges and universities within California).

TES

TES is an interactive resource for course data from higher education institutions which allows CSUMB to research transfer credit, track evaluations, and manage course equivalencies.
