Electric scooter sharing has returned to CSU Monterey Bay through a transportation program provided by Spin. The scooters are available at any time for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors to use.

Users need to download the Spin app to find and unlock the scooters. Riders should stay on the road when possible and wear a helmet. Rides must end in designated parking areas shown on the app. Parking areas are usually near bike racks and marked by flags. Riders can park and walk away without any concern for ownership, maintenance, or storage.

CSUMB Transportation Resources encourages campus community members to use the scooters to reduce environmental impacts, and encourage healthy living. Scooters support sustainability goals by reducing car trips and lowering vehicle emissions.

Part of the Ford Motor Company, Spin operates scooter programs in partnership with more than 26 universities across the United States, varying in size, enrollment, and environment. Spin believes sustainability is crucial to the long-term health of our universities and communities, and emissions and single-occupancy vehicle trips will only continue to rise if viable and popular alternatives are not offered.
