The Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce honored President Eduardo M. Ochoa at the annual Legacy of Leadership event on Nov. 13, which was open to the public via virtual live stream.
CSUMB has been recognized for its leadership in sustainable practices in the 2020 Sustainable Campus Index, a publication from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), a leader and driver in North America’s campus sustainability movement.

But since instruction moved online and school districts lost the ability to monitor and control interactions, K-12 officials have been reluctant to allow online tutoring due to liability concerns.

Fully leveraging our proximity to the extraordinary "living laboratory" of Monterey Bay, CSUMB began a dive program from its earliest days. The program focused on recreational training, including introductory courses in open water SCUBA and advanced SCUBA rescue. In 2010, the scientific research diving program was born.
Corey Garza, Ph.D., professor of marine science in CSUMB’s College of Science, was recently inducted as a 2020 fellow in the California Academy of Sciences. He joins a cohort of 13 other scientists from California and beyond as new members.
