Months away from his retirement, CSU Chancellor Timothy P. White delivered a large measure of positive news from the flagship Graduation Initiative 2025.
Corey Garza, Ph.D., professor of marine science in CSUMB’s College of Science, was recently inducted as a 2020 fellow in the California Academy of Sciences. He joins a cohort of 13 other scientists from California and beyond as new members.
Kevin Cahill came to work at CSUMB in 1998, four years after the university opened. He started as the art director of Cal State Teach, an online education program for people in rural areas to complete their teaching credentials.

SEASIDE, Ca., August 6, 2019 – California State University, Monterey Bay’s (CSUMB) Director of the Salinas Center for Arts and Culture, and Cinematic Arts and Technology Professor Enid Ryce was awarded the 2019 Monterey County Peace Award today by Monterey County Supervisor, Luis Alejo. Ryce was presented the award during National Night Out at Hebbron Family Center in Salinas along with Alma y Tradicion Ballet Floklorico and Hijos Del Sol, who also received the award.
