The Institute for Innovation and Economic Development (iiED) at CSUMB’s College of Business held the final round of the 11th Annual Startup Challenge Monterey Bay in May. Contestants competed online this year because of COVID-19, with 30 teams of entrepreneurs vying to be champions in four divisions.

Selena Velasquez has an impressive resume, even though the psychology major and statistics minor just graduated from CSUMB with a bachelor’s degree in May.

Two CSUMB undergraduate students took top awards at the 34th Annual California State University (CSU) Student Research Competition on April 24. CSU East Bay hosted this year’s event, which was virtual for the first time because of the coronavirus pandemic.

SEASIDE, Ca., January 16, 2020 – California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB) President Eduardo M. Ochoa awarded three employees with the President’s Medal Awards at CSUMB’s annual staff and faculty appreciation breakfast today, honoring their service to the university.

SEASIDE, Ca., December 6, 2019 – CSUMB Global Studies major Palia Vang was recently recognized for her high academic achievements and exceptional service provided to auxiliary organizations on campus. Vang works in a variety of roles serving the Otter Student Union (OSU) and Student Housing & Residential Life where her positive and upbeat attitude has impacted thousands of visitors to campus.

SEASIDE, Ca., December 4, 2019 – First Night Monterey unveiled its 2020 theme, “Light Up the Night!” and artwork for the upcoming New Year’s Eve Celebration at CSUMB’s Alumni and Visitor Center today.
