Prospective students must meet both the CSUMB admissions requirements and the KIN Online Program admissions requirements.
CSUMB admissions requirements
Upper Division Transfer Students
In addition to the completion of the KIN Online prerequisites, Upper-Division Transfer students must be transfer ready and must meet the following criteria.
Transfer ready is defined as:
- Having 60 or more semester credits (90 quarter units) of transferable courses. This includes:
- At least 30 semester credits (45 quarter units) of general education courses with a grade of C or better
- The following four courses (commonly called "Golden Four”) with a grade of C- or better:
- English Composition
- Speech/Oral Communication
- Critical Thinking
- College level Mathematics course (with intermediate algebra as a prerequisite)
- Minimum GPA of a 2.00
- Considered to be in "good standing" at current or most recent college/university
Post-Baccalaureate Students
KIN Online is open to post-baccalaureate students or those seeking an additional bachelor’s degree. To be eligible for the KIN Online Program, post-baccalaureate students must meet the following requirements:
- Must meet all KIN Online prerequisites below
- First bachelor’s degree cannot be in Kinesiology and must be the equivalent to a 4-year bachelor’s degree in the U.S and from a regionally accredited institution.
- Must be in good standing from the last college attended
- Minimum GPA of 2.5
KIN Online Prerequisite Coursework
The following courses are required for admission and must be completed with a C- or better:
- Anatomy with lab (4 credits)
- Physiology with lab (4 credits)
OR
- 2 courses of Anatomy & Physiology with lab (8 total credits)
