The Institute for Innovation and Economic Development (iiED) focuses on developing entrepreneurs and helping them start new businesses, as well as on helping existing businesses grow and thrive.

Sponsored by the U.S. Economic Development Administration, the Institute for Innovation and Economic Development (iiED) is a collaboration between California State University, Monterey Bay and the Monterey County Business Council, working together to research, create innovating business projects, and support students and entrepreneurs alike in their creative quest for business opportunities.

The Institute focuses on the need for more jobs opportunities in the region and for our graduating students. We offer programs that work toward developing entrepreneurs and supporting innovative ideas that lead to new business opportunities. iiED looks within the university and local research institutions to establish projects that assist students, investors, and entrepreneurs in successful internships, resources, and project development.
