CSU STEM Pathways & Research Alliance

The goal of the CSU STEM Pathways & Research Alliance (SPaRA) @ Monterey Bay is aimed at preparing the next generation of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) workers by providing academic support and professional development to students.

The CSU SPaRA @ Monterey Bay program offers activities and services designed to improve the retention, graduation and degree attainment of undergraduate students in STEM. In addition, the CSU SPaRA program seeks to increase the number of CSU students who enroll in STEM graduate programs.

Eligibility

To be eligible for CSU-SPaRA students must:

  • Be a U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Be enrolled at a participating campus in an undergraduate major in STEM discipline or have expressed an interest in pursuing a STEM baccalaureate degree.
    • Eligible majors: Agricultural Plant and Soil Science, Biology, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Tech & Policy, Environmental Studies, Marine Science, Mechatronics Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics and Data Science, and Business Administration with a concentration in Business Analytics and Information Systems concentration
  • Be an individual interested in pursuing graduate studies or join the workforce in a STEM field outside the health profession degrees or careers.
