Building Skills, Community and Leadership on Campus
Student Engagement and Leadership Development (SELD) plays a central role in supporting the holistic growth of CSUMB students. Through leadership programs, civic learning, student organizations, and campus traditions, SELD creates opportunities for students to connect, lead, and make an impact.
From involvement fairs and campus events to leadership training and community engagement, SELD helps students build meaningful relationships, explore interests, and develop skills that extend beyond the classroom.
Ways to Get Involved with SELD
Associated Students
Associated Students (AS) serves as the student government at CSUMB. AS supports student voices through advocacy, events, programs and services that promote belonging and student leadership across campus.
Community Engagement
Community engagement connects students with service, volunteerism and philanthropy opportunities that build meaningful relationships and make a positive impact beyond campus.
Civic Engagement
Become a change maker through civic engagement. Join us to promote responsibility by ensuring student votes contribute to a meaningful voting experience.
Greek Life
Greek Life offers opportunities for leadership, service and connection through recognized fraternities and sororities that support personal growth and community involvement.
Leadership Development
Leadership development programs help students build confidence, communication skills and leadership identity through workshops, trainings and co-curricular experiences.
Student Clubs and Organizations
Student clubs and organizations provide opportunities to connect with peers, explore interests and develop leadership skills through a wide range of student-led groups.
