Summer Tuition Payments and Refunds

Summer Tuition Payments

Submit your Summer Session tuition payment by the published deadline to maintain your enrollment. Because summer timelines differ from fall and spring terms, it’s important to review key dates and check your student account regularly.

Staying aware of payment deadlines helps ensure a smooth and successful summer experience.

Tuition Refund Policy

Tuition refunds are based on when you officially drop a course and may vary by session, enrollment status and unit load. Because summer sessions have different timelines, it’s important to review session-specific deadlines before making changes to your schedule.

All refunds are issued in accordance with California State University systemwide policies and campus guidelines.

Keep in mind:

  • You must officially withdraw from a course to be considered for a refund.

  • Refund deadlines vary by session.

  • Some fees are nonrefundable.

  • Nonresident tuition and certain program fees may follow separate refund rules.

For questions about your specific situation, contact the Office of the Registrar or Student Accounting for assistance.

Summer Refunds

Understanding the refund process helps you make informed enrollment decisions. Refund eligibility and timelines vary depending on your student status and enrollment type. Review the information below carefully and refer to Important Dates for deadline details.

Refunds for degree-seeking students are processed based on official drop dates and university policies.

If you drop a course by the published refund deadline, you may be eligible for a full or partial tuition refund. Refunds are issued according to the university’s refund schedule and will be processed through your original method of payment or direct deposit, if enrolled.

Students are responsible for officially dropping courses in OASIS. Failure to attend a class does not qualify as an official withdrawal and may result in charges remaining on your account.

Students enrolled through Open University follow the Open University refund policy and deadlines.
