Recreation Rentals

Want to go biking, hiking, camping, climbing, or surfing but don’t have gear? CSUMB Recreation has got you covered!

We stock a variety of rental equipment to get out and explore local beaches, state and national parks and trails.

Stop by the Recreation Service Desk in the Student Center to rent your gear and start making memories.

General Pricing Information

• There is a student rate for currently enrolled students and an affiliate rate for current faculty and staff. 
• Payment methods include major credit and debit cards, and cash. Checks are not accepted.
• All rentals are subject to sales tax.
• Equipment returned late will be charged the “per night” rate for each item for every day it is late.

Camping and Backpacking Equipment

Gear up for the great outdoors. All the equipment you need for a camping trip is available for the weekend or a full week. 

Surfing Equipment

Catch some waves. Rent a surfboard and wetsuit for the day, weekend or a whole week. 

Bike Rental

Whether you want to hit the trail with friends this weekend or are looking for a mode of daily transportation, CSUMB has you covered with short- and long-term bike rentals.

The Otter Cycle Center handles rentals directly. There, you can find: 

• City bikes
• Mountain bikes 
• Road bikes

All rentals come with a helmet and lock. You can also rent storage space through our Bike Bunker.
