The Otter Student Union (OSU) Board of Directors manages the business and affairs of the OSU and operates solely for the benefit of Cal State Monterey Bay. As a recognized 501(c)(3) auxiliary organization, the OSU is student-focused, inclusive and committed to enhancing campus life.

Board Composition
The OSU board includes a diverse mix of campus and community representatives. According to OSU Bylaws, Section 4.3, the board is composed of:

8–11 students
1 faculty member
1 alumni representative
1 community member
Designated Directors
OSU Director (or designee)
Vice President for Student Affairs (or designee)
Each year, 3-4 appointed directors serve as Executive Officers in the roles of Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. Student board members are appointed annually by the university president.
