Prospective students welcomed to second Open House
While the focus on this Open House is transfer students, first-year prospects are welcome also.
In its second Open House event in a month, Cal State Monterey Bay will welcome transfer students from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. Prospective first-year students who were unable to attend the earlier Open House are also invited, along with their families.
Guests can take guided campus tours that include an up-close look at housing, dining and recreational opportunities. They can also engage in hands-on learning activities and demos offered by various academic departments to get a taste of what CSUMB has to offer and, hopefully, become inspired to enroll. Sessions will be available on financial aid and the admissions process.
Highlights of the day include:
- On Divarty Street from 11:15 to noon, each of CSUMB’s undergraduate colleges will be tabling. Students can speak to professors and administrators about various programs and get information regarding potential courses of study.
- Formal presentations on admissions (one in Spanish), housing and a student panel discussion will be held in the Otter Student Union.
- Presentations on Financial Aid (offered in Spanish as well) and 1:1 support with applying to CSUMB will be available in the Library
- Campus and housing tours will be offered between noon and 2:30 p.m.
- The main quad will host a Campus Life and Resources Fair from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Various programs and clubs will be providing information and answering questions.
- Students can use the Guidebook app to schedule their own CSUMB adventure, exploring the areas most important to them.
