Banned book event planned
A banned book event will highlight the escalating book bans in schools across the country that target the LGBTQ+ community and people of color.
A banned book event is being held Tuesday, Nov. 7, from 5-6 p.m. in the Otter Student Union’s Sage 310.
The event will highlight the escalating book bans in schools across the country that target the LGBTQ+ community and people of color. The dangers of erasing people’s stories and what can be done to support writers and artists will be discussed, along with ways to support other states and center the stories of affected groups in local communities.
The event is sponsored by the Otter Cross Cultural Center.
