Damian Flores hit a home run to lead the Green Team to victory. Everyone else got Kit-Kat bars.

It was all part of CSUMB’s annual End-of-the-Year Softball Game and Barbecue on Thursday, May 25. More than 200 people were treated to hamburgers, hot dogs, pasta salad and more under cloudy skies that kept pretty much everyone in jackets, except for the Otter baseball team that was working out on the adjacent field, preparing for their championship meetup with CSU San Bernardino.

“I forgot my snow boots!” said President Vanya Quiñones, laughing about the cold weather before congratulating the attendees on a great year. One by one, she recognized each division in the college, granting everyone a moment of applause.

Then, she announced, “You all deserve a break,” and proceeded to hand out Kit-Kat bars to all in attendance.

The crowd had plenty of other chances to cheer one another during the softball game, particularly those supporting the Green Team. Most importantly, no one was injured.
